The story of our craftsmanship

At Porters Antwerp, craftsmanship is at the heart of everything we do. Every object that leaves our atelier carries the soul of timeless handwork and the patience of generations of artisans. We believe true beauty emerges where human skill and natural materials meet.

Mouth-Blown Glass and Crystal

Decanters & Pharmacy jars are still entirely mouth-blown - a rare technique that gives each creation unmatched finesse and depth. It is a slow, precise process in which experienced glassblowers shape the material into unique works, where tiny irregularities are proof of pure craftsmanship. No two objects are ever identical; each glass bears its own subtle signature.

Patina as an Art Form

Our furniture tells stories that go beyond form alone. Through careful finishing and patination, we give both antique and contemporary pieces a rich, lived - in character. With pigments, layers, and delicate brushing, we create a depth reminiscent of decades of gentle use and natural ageing. This approach - characteristic of Porters Antwerp - results in a warm, vibrant appearance that cannot be imitated by machine processes.

Textiles with a Soul

Our textile collection celebrates craftsmanship in every detail.

Cushions and fabrics are made from rich, tactile materials - velvets, linens and wools - each chosen for their depth and natural elegance. Every piece is finished with refined details: hand-stitched seams, subtle piping, or decorative tassels that lend a sense of quiet opulence. The interplay of texture and tone creates a layered visual softness, allowing the fabrics to shift gently with the light and bring warmth and character to any interior.

Botanical art

Bringing the beauty of nature indoors.

Our story begins with a simple love of nature - and the practical problem that real plants, as lovely as they are, don’t always fit modern life. They need careful tending, right light and humidity, and often more time than people can give. That’s how we started exploring high-quality, lifelike artificial plants: to bring nature’s calm and beauty into more homes, offices and public spaces without the worry.

From the very first mould to the finished tree, our approach is rooted in observation and craftsmanship. We go out into natural environments to study the plants we recreate - collecting branches, leaves and visual references - and bring those details back to the studio.

Moulds are developed from real specimens, repeatedly refined until proportions, texture and movement feel true to life.

Materials are chosen with equal care. Some components are selected and even blended with proprietary treatments so the finished product combines durability with a genuine look and touch.

To capture the smallest botanical details we keep many processes by hand: coloring, attaching leaves and flowers to stems, and final shaping are done by experienced artisans. These manual steps are labour-intensive and becoming rarer - but they are essential to achieve the natural irregularities and subtle differences that make each piece feel alive.

We believe realism is not just about appearance - it’s the balance of resilience, texture and the little imperfections that occur in nature. That philosophy guides our mission: to create beautiful, long-lasting pieces that let people enjoy nature’s presence wherever they live or work.

As for tree care - our artificial trees require very little maintenance. Just avoid prolonged direct sunlight and soaking in water. For cleaning, simply treat them like regular furniture: dusting or wiping with a damp cloth works well.
