Love and Care Shape the Result
The client had purchased an old farmhouse, intended as a countryside retreat to enjoy personally and with guests. The goal was to furnish it simply, with a sense of ease and relaxation.
Through the love and attention of both the client and Porters Antwerp, the project evolved into a soulful, fully realized home.
A Country Home Full of Charm
The farmhouse’s structure was already completed when Porters Antwerp first stepped inside. What was initially meant as a modest weekend home quickly grew into a full-scale residential project.
Through a combination of traditional techniques, we transformed the clean, modern shell into a warm and charming country residence.
The interior walls were finished with a soft plaster texture, and all oak elements were gently greyed. Old beams were incorporated to make modern transitions feel organic, and a reclaimed barn frame found new life within the home. To enhance its authentic character, the wooden ceiling was patinated and the PVC windows were given a steel-look finish with a subtle rust effect.
To keep the space fresh and light, we used soft colour tones in the living room and natural materials such as jute and linen for the furniture. The décor combined pieces from the Porters Antwerp collection with bespoke creations that perfectly complemented the home’s timeless elegance.
